Galaxis Frontier has demonstrated the ability to significantly increase milk yield and feed efficiency through several academic and commercial trials. However, these benefits are proving to be just the tip of the iceberg. Recent control/treatment on-farm trials have focused on identifying the product’s contribution to improving cow health.

One of the areas we studied was the impact on culling for cows enrolled in product during early lactation. Random-Effects meta-analysis of eight independent commercial trials found an average 14% reduction in cull rates (p=0.009), indicating that Galaxis Frontier improves cow livability.

In a separate control/treatment trial with 6,000 Holstein cows, we enrolled cows into the trial starting in the close-up pen (3-4 weeks pre-partum) allowing us to observe differences in health events during transition and early cull rates (<60 DIM). We found cows fed Galaxis Frontier pre-partum showed a significant reduction in metabolic disease, including ketosis, milk fever, metritis, and lameness. Additionally, a significant reduction in early culling was observed.

We continue to learn more about the diverse benefits of Galaxis Frontier. If you’d like to learn more about how this novel rumen genetics product can improve your herd’s health, production, and efficiency, please reach out to us.
